I try to do as much as possible using the Patient Access app as getting a phone call answered is horrendous - and the grumpy staff are not the easiest to deal with and it should free up much needed time by you not having to serve me. Classic issue today - need to reorder a prescription (different tablets just prescribed by my GP 2 weeks ago), for some reason that prescription does not show on Patient Access so I phone in, (have to wait until after 11am as its for a prescription) and told "we cant do these things over the phone you will have to come to the surgery and fill out a form......and you wonder why the surgery is so busy. Ridiculous and inefficient. The Doc has prescribed it, my notes will show that, just add it on the system so I can self serve - why do I need to visit the surgery and fill out a form?.
Was on hold for 15mins. Hung up. Took a lot to make the call in the first place. Changed my mind, maybe there's another way out.
The main GPs at Fitznell's are very good....if you can actually get one! The telephone system cannot cope with the daily scramble at 08:30 and it repeatedly cuts you off or leaves you hanging in silence. You can expect to redial about 40 times at least before you get through. Also, it is not possible to book a non-urgent appt say, within a few days...you can only play the morning scramble for a same-day appt or book one in about 3 weeks, nothing in between. It causes me huge stress every time I need to visit.
Take ages to answer calls , and wait 7 days to have ear syringed when totally death and need to work !
Too difficult to get an appointment by phone on the day. I have been waiting for up to 25 mins sometimes on the phone.
Avoid Dr Jones. He turned up late for work, , kept me waiting for 15 mins and didn't even apologise. His manner is purely transactional no bedside manner or interest in the patient.
Dr Crabtree is fantastic but as a result it's hard to get an appointment with her.
The premises are tired and in need of new furniture, carpets and a lick of paint.
Turnover of other doctors, apart from the partners, appears quite high.
